UPDATE: Woman, 71, dies after being hit by SUV on Military Trail in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Authorities were alerted to the scene of a pedestrian crash Thursday morning, January 2, in West Palm Beach that claimed the life of a 71-year-old woman, according to CBS 12.

The fatal incident took place on Military Trail at the intersection with Orleans Court, in an area west of Palm Beach International Airport. It was first reported at around 8:25 a.m.

A crash report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) indicates that the woman was trying to walk across Military Trail when she entered the direct path of a Chevrolet Suburban heading southbound in the left lane of the road, and was struck by the SUV.

The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene, confirmed officials.

No pending charges or citations have been announced, and no other details have been released at this time.
