Wrong-way driver arrested for DWI, causing crash near Hollywood

MIRAMAR, FL – A wrong-way driver was arrested Sunday, Nov. 28, for causing a multi-vehicle crash on Florida’s Turnpike near Hollywood Blvd.

According to WSVN, the accident happened around 4:40 a.m. The suspect, Ciazaris Emilio Rodriguez, 43, was driving south in the northbound lanes of the turnpike. Rodriguez crashed his black Lexus into a silver Honda. The driver of a gray Honda swerved to avoid the crash, hitting a tractor trailer.

One person was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Rodriguez was arrested on suspicion of DWI.
