Wrong-way crash sends two to the hospital in Miramar
MIRAMAR, FL – Two drivers were hospitalized after a violent head-on collision on I-75 early Friday morning, NBC Miami reports.
The crash occurred on the exit ramp towards westbound Miramar Parkway shortly after midnight. A box truck entered the ramp travelling the wrong way just as a Chevy Tahoe SUV attempted to use the ramp to exit.
The two vehicles collided head-on. One driver was trapped in his vehicle for over an hour before first responders were able to free him.
One driver, a 27-year-old man, sustained moderate injuries but the other, a 21-year-old man, was forced to have a leg amputated.
