Woman’s life claimed in alleged DUI wreck in Boynton Beach
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – A 39-year-old man was allegedly impaired while driving at a high rate, leading him to crash his Corvette into a car, claiming a woman’s life Sunday.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office told CBS 12 that the driver of the Toyota Camry car was turning left from Cedar Point Boulevard onto Military Trail when they were struck by the Corvette.
The force of the collision was serious, causing the sedan to rip in half and eject a 25-year-old woman from the car. The ejected individual, identified as Natalie Pierre, a local, died at the scene. Her driver sustained minor injuries.
The 39-year-old man, identified as Dale Drotar, was left in critical condition. Deputies said he is going to face criminal charges.
Authorities confirmed that both drivers traveled on green lights. An investigation is underway.
