Woman killed when she rear-ends semi with pickup truck in Jupiter

JUPITER, FL – A woman operating a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck lost her life after she rear-ended a semi-truck on the southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike Friday.

This collision occurred after 1:15 a.m. at mile marker 113, north of the exit leading to PGA Boulevard, according to WPTV. Florida Highway Patrol said the woman failed to slow down due to traffic, which resulted in her Dodge colliding with the truck and becoming wedged under the tractor-trailer. In addition, the truck also caught on fire.

The truck driver, a 57-year-old man, did not sustain any injuries.

Troopers shut down the southbound lanes after the collision and reopened all lanes by 8:30 a.m.

An investigation was launched. No other details are available at this time.
