Woman hospitalized after her SUV submerges into Miami Lakes canal

MIAMI LAKES, FL – An SUV driver was taken to a hospital as a precaution after she had allegedly driven past a sign and then crashed into the canal near Miami Lakes Park Thursday.

WSVN said this single-vehicle crash happened in the morning along Northwest 67th Avenue and Loch Ness Drive. A person who was able to watch the events unfold while fixing a roof was able to rush to the scene and help her out of her partially submerged car before officials arrived.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were among the first responders called to the scene. After emergency crews arrived at the crash site, they provided the woman with the necessary medical attention before taking her to the hospital and removing her SUV.
