Woman fatally struck by truck on SE 1st Ave. in Pompano Beach
POMPANO BEACH, FL – A 71-year-old woman tried to cross Southeast 1st Avenue but was hit by a GMC Sierra Denali around 8:30 a.m. and succumbed to fatal injuries Monday.
CBS 12 said the force of the collision prompted the woman, who was later identified as Edy De Oliveria E. Silva, to fall down. She was then rushed to Broward Health North, where she died.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. They revealed that speed and impairment did not play a role in Monday’s fatal crash.
