Woman fatally run over by hit-and-run suspect in Miami

MIAMI, FL – A woman was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where she passed away after getting run over by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday. 

This collision happened after 5 a.m., CBS News said. Preliminary details showed that the woman was pushing a cart when she was struck by the driver, who continued traveling on NW 79th Street. 

Police said the woman was crossing the intersection of NW 17 Avenue at NW 79 Street. They believe the victim was hit by a suspect operating a white SUV, which has since sustained front-end damage. 

Police started an investigation. They have not released additional information, including the victim’s name.
