Woman, 30, killed when Jeep rear-ends car in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, FL – A 30-year-old woman from Panama City lost her life when the back of her white Acura TSX was struck by a Jeep Wrangler SUV Thursday.

WSVN said the events of this collision started to unravel when the Jeep driver, a 31-year-old adult, started driving on Florida’s Turnpike shoulder. The motorist did not reduce their speed and rear-ended the white Acura TSX, which was stationary on the shoulder. As a result, the 30-year-old woman (whose name was not released) died from her wounds at the scene.

The impact of this collision led the Jeep’s front end to sustain significant damage, while the white car was shattered into pieces.

Authorities did not confirm if the Jeep driver (whose identity was also undisclosed) was harmed or specified what kind of citations or charges they would face.

Prior to this collision, Florida Highway Patrol had to close a portion of East Atlantic Boulevard after a semi, with an attached Amazon trailer, spilled diesel fuel. In addition, troopers and crews also shut down the northbound directions for several hours before reopening all lanes later.
