Volvo driver fatally hits 98-year-old man in West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A 98-year-old man walking had tripped over a curb and was then run over by a 2024 Volvo, leading him to succumb to fatal wounds Friday.
WPTV said this collision happened after 11 a.m. at the South Olive Avenue and Evernia Street junction. The driver, a 73-year-old woman from West Palm Beach, struck the man amid a green light at the intersection.
The man was declared dead at the scene, while the driver was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
It is not immediately clear if the woman will face charges. At this time, West Palm Beach Police have not released other information, including the man’s name.
