Two cyclists hit in Fort Lauderdale, driver flees scene
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Two cyclits were struck by a vehicle that appeared to intentially swerve into the bike lane on Saturday, Local 10 News reports.
The incident occurred in the intersection of Oakland Park Boulevard and A1A on Saturday. A driver in a dark sedan was coming out of an intersection when they veered into the bike lane and excelerated into two cyclists. They also struck a third bike that was unoccupied before speeding away.
The extend of the cyclists injuries has not been reported. Police are continuing to investigate the incident as there were also reports of a large group of rowdy cyclists throwing bricks at cars.
