Turnpike hit-and-run leaves one dead, two injured

MIAMI, FL – A child was killed and two adutls were injured in a hit-and-run on the Turnpike on Tuesday night, CBS Miami reports. 

The victims were driving north in a 2015 Volkswagen Passat when they stopped on the side of the Turnpike near Griffin Road.

A 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE then struck the rear of the Passat. A young girl in the backseat was killed at the scene and a man and woman in the front seat were rushed to Broward Health Medical Center.

The Mercedes then fled the scene. Police are currently searching for that vehicle.
