Truck driver fatally hits 78-year-old woman in Lake Worth Beach

LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL – A 78-year-old woman has died after getting struck by a man driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck on Saturday.

CBS 12 said the crash took place at around 3 p.m. in the 4000th block of Lucille Drive. Preliminary details from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office indicate the man was backing his pickup truck out of a driveway when he failed to yield to the female pedestrian, who was then struck.

Officials say the male driver alerted first responders, who rushed the woman to a local hospital, where she later died. The victim was later identified as Ana Maria Tapia-Gomez.

At this time, it is unclear if the driver was cited or if criminal charges are anticipated.
