Teen hospitalized after vehicle fire on I-95 in Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A teen boy was rushed to the hospital after a vehicle fire on I-95 in southwest Fort Lauderdale on Sunday.
According to WSVN, the fire was reported at about 2:45 p.m. on the northbound lanes of the freeway near the Davie Boulevard overpass.
First responders say the 15-year-old boy suffered serious burns when he opened the hood of the car. He was transported to Broward Health Medical Center in unknown condition.
Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the blaze. It is unclear what may have sparked the fire at this time. Should more information come to light, this blog will be updated.
