SUV driver fatally hits 85-year-old woman in West Palm Beach 

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – An 85-year-old woman died after she was hit by a driver of a 2017 Ford Escape making a right turn onto Okeechobee Boulevard Friday. 

This collision happened around 1:30 p.m. along Church Street while the woman was crossing the street, WPTV reported. After Maria Hortenica Affortunato was struck, she was pulled underneath briefly before the motorist stopped. 

First responders rushed Affortunato to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where she later died. 

No pending charges were revealed.
