Speedy, impaired driver causes fatal Miami Gardens wreck
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A 25-year-old man was said to have been impaired when he was speeding, leading to a crash that claimed the lives of four people Sunday.
Local 10 said the collision took place at the intersection of Northwest 170th Street and 37th Avenue. Miami Gardens Police said the 25-year-old man, driving a black Kia Sorento, had first crashed into a white Nissan Altima. The driver of the Nissan then collided with a gray Cadillac Escalade.
The impact led the Nissan occupants, a woman and three children, to suffer fatal wounds.
Citizens who saw what unfolded and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene. Officers arrested and booked the 25-year-old man into Miami-Dade County. Authorities have identified him as Antonio Wilcox, Jr, and said he is “facing five counts of vehicular homicide.”
