Shooting suspects arrested after pursuit-rollover crash in Miami

MIAMI, FL – Miami-Dade police arrested a 31-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, who also happen to be shooting suspects, following a pursuit that ended in a rollover collision Wednesday.

Officers told NBC Miami that the events unfolded at NE 10th Avenue and NE 79th Street, where they attempted to stop the 31-year-old woman, identified as Ariane Rodriguez, driving a white Audi Q5. (Rodriguez and the man with her were said to be the main suspects with respect to a shooting that happened in Palm Beach County.)

Rodriguez did not listen to the police and drove away, thus initiating the pursuit. She passed a vehicle on an eastbound 2-lane road, then ran a stop sign and a red light before crashing into an unmarked police car, which overturned.

The passenger with Rodriguez, the 34-year-old man identified as Jonathan Lozano, tried to jump out of the car window and escape. The attempt was unsuccessful as officers apprehended him and then Rodriguez.

As it stands, “Rodriguez currently faces several reckless driving charges, including evading police and driving with a suspended license.” She is expected to face additional charges.
