Scooterist struck, killed by driver in Fort Pierce

FORT PIERCE, FL – According to WPTV5 News, a 61-year-old male scooterist was struck and killed by a driver in Fort Pierce on Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the accident took place shortly before 5:15 a.m. in the 4500 block of Glades Cut Off Road when a 61-year-old man was riding a 49cc Mototec Scooter and was rear-ended by a driver in a Ford F-150 truck. The rider was ejected from the scooter in the impact.

The scooterist was killed in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford F-150 was not injured.
