Rollover crash near Naranja claims pedestrian’s life, injures driver
MIAMI, FL – A driver of a black Cadillac sedan was hospitalized after their SUV overturned upon fatally striking a pedestrian near the Naranja area Sunday.
This collision occurred around 3 a.m. on Old Dixie Highway along SW 272nd Street, NBC Miami reported. The impact caused the driver’s wheels to come undone and either pin or entrap them. Eventually, first responders were able to extricate the victim using the Jaws of Life (which also included cutting the car’s roof) approach.
The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. The driver was sent to Jackson South Hospital and issued a trauma alert.
Officials are investigating the contributing factors and have not released other information (including the identities of the victims) at this time.
