Police confirm fatality in crash near Santaluces Community High School

BOYNTON BEACH, FL – Boynton Police revealed more information about the crash at the Hypoluxo Road and Lawrence Road junction, including the fact that one life was claimed. 

This fatal wreck occurred around 2:30 a.m. Friday along Santaluces Community High School. WFLX said this collision happened when a West Palm Beach police officer – 43-year-old Fernando DeSouza – crashed his cruiser into a pole. His vehicle caught on fire, and DeSouza succumbed to fatal injuries. 

Police have not mentioned what led DeSouza to crash his car into a pole nor said if another vehicle was involved.
