Pedestrian struck, killed by driver in Palm Beach Co.
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – According to a report from WPTV News, a female pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver in Palm Beach County on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident was reported around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Bacom Point Road and Rardin Avenue. Authorities say a 33-year-old driver of a 2000 Dodge RAM was heading east on Bacom Point when the driver veered off the road, went up onto the sidewalk, and struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was thrown to the ground in the collision.
The pedestrian was killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver initially pulled his vehicle over and fled the scene on foot before returning to the Dodge and attempting to drive away. He was later located and is currently cooperating with investigators.
