Passenger dies following Christmas Day collision in Lake Worth Beach
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – Authorities have confirmed that a 73-year-old man who was involved in a crash Christmas Day in Lake Worth Beach succumbed to his injuries at the end of the year, according to CBS 12.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the wreck occurred at the. intersection of Lyons Road and Rosemont Drive on Wednesday, December 25, at around 6:00 p.m.
The victim, who was the front-seat passenger of a Toyota Venza heading northbound on Lyons Road, suffered critical injuries when a driver in an oncoming Kia Soul attempted to turn left in the SUV’s path, causing a crash. The impact caused the Kia Soul to spin, and for the Venza to be pushed across the intersection.
The 73-year-old man was rushed to Delray Medical Center in critical condition, where officials said he died on New Year’s Eve.
Two other occupants of the Venza were not reported hurt in the incident, but the driver of the Soul sustained minor injuries.
