Officials confirm names of 2 killed in crash with officer 

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Officials have released the name of the two people killed in a left turn collision involving a Riviera Beach police officer over Father’s Day weekend. 

According to CBS 12,  officer Carl Johnson was driving south on Australian Avenue, while the driver of the Hyundai Genesis was going north on Australian Avenue. The driver of the Hyundai was in the left turning lane, and Johnson was in the inside lane when both drivers collided. 

When both cars collided, the Hyundai driver and passenger succumbed to fatal injuries. One of the occupants was identified as Rodneshia Lenise Saunders, of Riviera Beach, who was born in 1993. The other person was only identified by first name – Danielle. 

Officials have confirmed that officer Johnson was hospitalized for serious injuries. 

An official investigation is underway, but Johnson could be charged with a double vehicular homicide and other criminal charges.
