Motorcyclist dies following crash on Atlantic Ave in west Delray Beach
DELRAY BEACH, FL — A 20-year-old man lost his life early Thursday as a result of a motorcycle collision on Atlantic Avenue in west Delray Beach, according to CBS12.
First responders were dispatched to the scene on a stretch of the road (FL-806) just east of El Clair Ranch Road, some time after 12:30 a.m.
An investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office indicates the young man, a Boynton Beach resident, was operating a motorcycle eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and ejected from the motorcycle as it hit a curb. The impact sent the rider sliding into a chain-link fence and then onto the shoulder of the road.
The victim was rushed to Delray Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries, confirmed officials.
No other parties or vehicles appear to have been involved in the incident.
