Man killed after being struck by distracted driver in Lake Worth

LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL – A 46-year-old man was killed in Lake Worth on Sunday in a collision caused by a distracted driver, CBS 12 reports.

Police say the accident occurred near the Burger King on North Dixie Highway as a 15-year-old driver was exiting the drive-thru, spilled his drink and became distracted.

His vehicle then left the road and struck a man sitting in front of a neighboring business. The victim was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver was not injured. No indication was given whether the driver will face charges.
