Man, 59, fatally struck by driver while trying to aid with I-95 crash
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – A 59-year-old man from Port St. Lucie was killed when he was hit by an SUV as he tried to help another driver who crashed on I-95 South Friday morning.
According to CBS 12, the initial collision happened north of Military Trail. The driver who crashed came to rest in the center lanes on I-95.
The Port St Lucie man was walking on the shoulder, and making his way to help the other motorist, when he was fatally struck by a driver operating a 2021 White Mercedes Benz SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There has been no official word on what initiated the initial collision, nor have troopers said if the other drivers were injured.
