Man, 57, critically hurt in hit-and-run in Lantana

LANTANA, FL – A 57-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by the driver of a Jeep, who fled the scene, on Hypoluxo Road along the Family Dollar store Saturday.

CBS 12 said the events of this hit-and-run unfolded before 9:30 p.m. when the pedestrian did not yield to on-coming traffic while crossing the street and thus was hit by the Jeep.

The Jeep motorist, who is believed to be a 27-year-old man, did not render aid and took off after making contact with the walker.

First responders said the 57-year-old man was sent to St. Mary’s Medical Center and deemed his survival “unlikely.”
