Man, 23, dead after left-turn wreck in Deerfield Beach
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL – A 23-year-old man was transported to Broward Health North, where he later died after a left-turn crash Sunday.
CBS 12 said the collision happened before 11 p.m. when a left-turning 2015 Hyundai Sonata collided with a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta at the intersection of Southwest 10th Street and Waterways Boulevard. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said the Hyundai driver was going east on SW 10th, and the Volkswagen driver, the 23-year-old man, was west on SW 10th.
Deputies said that after the vehicles collided, the 23-year-old man lost control of his Volkswagen and then crashed into a pole. He succumbed to his injuries later and has since been identified as Erik Mardirossian.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue also responded to the scene and did not mention if they had to extricate anyone from their vehicles.
An investigation is underway.
