Man, 21, seriously injured after getting hit by car on Okeechobee Boulevard
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A pedestrian versus car crash left a 21-year-old man critically injured in West Palm Beach Sunday.
The collision occurred on Okeechobee Boulevard around midnight, The Boca Post reported.
Police said that Kevin Vasquez, the 21-year-old man, declined to use the crosswalk and instead walked outside of it. A driver was approaching and thought Vasquez was going to stop. Vasquez did not stop, and the driver kept driving, which led to Vasquez getting hit.
The driver was identified as 37-year-old Cedric Carter. Since Carter had the right of way, he would not be facing charges.
Carter remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Vasquez was seriously hurt, and his current condition is unknown.
