Lantana hit-and-run leaves pedestrian dead
LANTANA, FL – A pedestrian was killed in Lantana on Friday night after being struck by a hit-and-run driver, WFLX reports.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Jog Road and Lantana Road around 6:30 p.m.
The victim, a 52-year-old man, was attempting to cross Jog Road when he was struck by a white BMW driven by a 25-year-old man.
The driver then fled south on Jog Road. The victim died at the scene.
Police later found and arrested the driver. He is being charged with leaving the scene of a crash (causing death) and fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
