Hit-and-run driver strikes, critically injures man in Lake Worth

LAKE WORTH, FL – A man was left in critical condition after he was hit by a driver who then fled the scene on South Military Trail Sunday.

The collision happened after 2 a.m., CBS 12 reported. The man was not supposed to be in the southbound lanes and was allegedly in the path of the hit-and-run driver, who was believed to have operated a white 2015 or 2019 Ford transit van.

When the van made contact with the man, he fell onto the pavement, and the van sustained damage to the rear-view side mirror. When first responders arrived at the scene, they sent the man to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Palm Beach County deputies have not released the man’s name, nor have they found the suspect.
