Hit-and-run driver fatally strikes moped rider in Port St. Lucie
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – A person operating a GMC pickup truck, who later led the scene, struck a man on a moped scooter, leading to the scooter rider’s death Friday.
This collision happened around 11:15 p.m. at the Southwest Airoso Boulevard and Southwest Todd Avenue intersection, according to WPTV. The scooter was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where he succumbed to fatal wounds.
Port St. Lucie police have since identified the victim as 37-year-old Gardy Petit-Frere and said they located the suspect’s vehicle but have yet to catch the suspect themself.
