Fiery big rig rollover wreck reported in Lauderhill

LAUDERHILL, FL – A driver of a big rig crashed into a median, causing the truck to overturn and catch on fire Wednesday, NBC Miami said.

The collision took place on Florida’s Turnpike near Sunrise Boulevard. David Platt, an eyewitness, who recorded the accident with his dash camera, also showed several pieces of debris hitting several vehicles.

Platt rendered aid to the driver prior to Florida Highway Patrol and fire crews arriving.

Officials were left with no choice but to shut down all southbound lanes for the extinguishing of the flames and the overall scene clearance process.

The events leading to the wreck and the extent of injuries sustained have not been revealed.

Updates will be added after our team learns more.
