Female scooter rider critically hurt in Miami hit-and-run 

MIAMI, FL – A hit-and-run driver was responsible for causing a crash that left a female scooter rider in critical condition Monday, Local 10 said. 

The collision happened around 11:30 p.m. off Northeast 5th Avenue and Northeast 79th Street. Right after the vehicle and scooter made contact, the woman fell from the scooter, and the driver and passenger fled the scene on foot. 

The woman is recovering at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. 

The suspect’s vehicle, a dark gray sedan, was towed away from the scene. 

Miami police and Miami Fire Rescue responded to the scene. Police are continuing to investigate the details behind the wreck. Anyone with more information about the crash is asked to contact police at the phone number listed in the source.
