Falling electric pole strikes truck in Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH, FL – A truck driving through Miami Beach was struck by a falling electrical pole on Wednesday, WSVN reports.

The incident occurred on 14th Street near Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive.

Low-hanging electrical wires are believed to have been the cause of the fall. The pole came to rest on top of the truck without causing injury to the driver or any of the pedestrians nearby.

Witnesses described the event as a near-disaster that could easily have caused serious injury or worse. Neighbors had previously complained about the low-hanging wires but they had not been fixed.
