Extricated man hospitalized after crash in Miami

MIAMI, FL – Fire crews had to cut off the roof of an SUV in order to extricate a man pinned inside prior to him getting airlifted to a hospital following a serious crash Wednesday.

WSVN said this collision took place around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Krome Avenue and Southwest 122nd Street when the car driver crashed into the car hauler (transporting a pickup truck), which loosened the trailer. After the trailer came undone, the semi-truck crashed into it, leaving the SUV with significant front-end damage and lodging the trailer on the side of the roof.

Due to the severity of this wreckage, fire crews had to shut down Krome Avenue between Southwest 136th Street and 122nd Street for approximately two hours. At this time, officials did not reveal the current condition of the hospitalized man, say if anyone else was injured, or specify the events that led to this crash.
