Driver runs red light, causing crash that injures 2 civilians, officer
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A driver of a black Dodge Charger ran a red light and hit a marked Miami Gardens police white SUV, injuring the officer and the two Dodge occupants Tuesday.
This collision happened before 3 a.m. near Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 167th Street. Local 10 said the Dodge Charger driver t-boned the officer’s white Ford Explorer. As a result, the officer then crashed his car into the exterior walls of the expressway.
The officer and the two occupants of the Dodge were flown by helicopter to a hospital. The two Dodge passengers sustained critical, life-threatening injuries, while the officer is expected to survive his wounds.
