Driver, officers hospitalized after crash near Zoo Miami

MIAMI, FL –  A civilian driver and two Miami-Dade police officers were transported to a hospital after a two-vehicle collision near Zoo Miami Thursday.

This collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the Southwest 152nd Street and 117th Avenue junction, the Miami Herald reported. The officers were responding to an emergency call and drove through the intersection. A Miami-Dade officer claimed the other driver did not “likely see” the patrol car and had struck the cruiser. This detail has not yet been confirmed.

The two officers were transported to Baptist Hospital for an evaluation of their injuries, and a driver was taken to Jackson South Medical Center.
