Driver loses life in wreck with Publix truck in Miami Gardens
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A driver operating a Publix semi-truck was turning left when a pickup truck struck the big rig, which ultimately led to the pickup truck driver’s death Monday.
CBSMiami said the collision happened at NW 183 Street and NW Miami Court. Once the vehicles collided, the Ford F-250 truck got trapped underneath the semi, which trapped the driver and then led to his death, while the tractor-trailer motorist was unharmed.
Preliminary details from Miami Gardens Police show that the pickup truck driver was speeding and failed to yield when the collision occurred.
Numerous tow truck personnel and other first responders had to stabilize the large truck and adjust the height so crews could remove the smaller truck pinned underneath.
Police did not reveal the victim’s identity at this time.
