Driver killed in collision with Brightline train in Palm Beach Gardens

PALM BEACH GARDENS -A Brightline train collided with a vehicle at a railroad crossing in Palm Beach Gardens on Monday afternoon, resulting in one fatality, WPBF reported.

The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department responded to the crash at the intersection of Burns Road and Alternate A1A just after 2 p.m.

Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue and city police officers arrived at the scene to find a Brightline train had struck a vehicle on the tracks.

Authorities confirmed that the sole occupant of the vehicle, identified only as a male, was pronounced dead at the scene by fire rescue personnel.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Officials have not provided details about the circumstances leading to the collision or whether any train passengers were injured.
