Driver hospitalized after truck crashes near Miami Int. Airport
MIAMI, FL – One truck driver was sent to Ryder Trauma Center after two separate truck collisions that happened near the Miami International Airport Monday.
The two separate crashes happened at 6 a.m. at the Dolphin Expressway and Le Jeune Road junction, WSVN reveals.
Florida Highway Patrol said the truck driver was hospitalized for serious injuries after their truck overturned.
The other collision was between a car and a semi-trailer, which led the truck to jackknife.
FHP and other first responders had to shut down three lanes for the scene clearance and investigation period. They also closed most of Le Jeune Road and left one right lane open to accommodate the flow of traffic.
Officials also shut down Northwest 27th Avenue but said all closures for NW 27th were also lifted.
