Driver arrested in connection to fatal motorcycle crash in Ft. Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The man responsible for a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday has been arrested.
According to a report by NBC Miami, the crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the South Federal Highway near Southeast 6th Street at about 1 a.m.
Investigators say 34-year-old Stephen Sherburne was behind the wheel of the black 2022 Ford Edge that slammed into the rear of the motorcyclist.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sherburne was booked into the Broward County jail Thursday on charges of failure to remain at the scene of a crash involving death, leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage and tampering with physical evidence.
