Cyclist in critical condition after SW Miami-Dade accident

MIAMI, FL – A cyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after being hit by a car in Southwest Miami-Dade on Wednesday morning.

According to NBC Miami, the accident occurred at the intersection of Southwest 179th Street and 112th Avenue around 5:30 a.m. The cyclist, who has not been identified, sustained critical injuries and was taken to Jackson Medical Hospital South’s Trauma Center.

The accident was caused when a driver lost control of her vehicle while suffering a medical emergency. She has also been hospitalized and her current condition is unknown.
