Car crashes into Tamiami canal, sending driver to hospital
MIAMI, FL – A driver was sent to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital after he crashed his car into a canal in the Tamiami community Tuesday.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the scene, off Southwest 8th Street and Southwest 147th Avenue, around 10:30 p.m. and were able to rescue the driver from the water, WSVN reports.
The source indicated that the motorist may have struck a guardrail, showcasing damage done to it.
The occupant appears to be in stable condition.
Officials are actively working to determine what caused the driver to drift off the road and lose control of his car.
