Bus driver fatally hits 34-year-old man in Lake Worth

LAKE WORTH, FL – A driver of a Palm Tran bus hit a 34-year-old man who was coming off the bus, leading to his death Tuesday.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office told WPTV that the crash happened at S Military Trail and Melaleuca Lane when the man had crouched down in front of the bus’ back tire, leading the bus to hit the passenger’s head and the passenger to die from his injuries at the scene.

The bus driver told deputies that the “man appeared out of it” prior to the collision happening.

Deputies have since identified the driver as Denis Onyshchenko from Greenacres.
