Boy, 17, dead after getting hit by a car while riding bicycle in Boca Raton
BOCA RATON, FL – A cyclist’s life was claimed after he was struck by a car at U.S. Highway 441 and Spanish Isles Boulevard.
The collision occurred around 6 p.m. Thursday, according to WPTV. The cyclist – a 17-year-old teenage boy – tried to cross the street riding his bike when a 2015 Kia Optima hit him. Police said he did not use the marked crosswalk.
As a result, the teenage boy collided with the car hood and windshield, was ejected, and came to rest on the road.
The driver of the Optima, a 46-year-old woman, was unharmed and remained at the scene.
The teenage boy succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
