Auto fire blocks SR-826, FL’s Turnpike in Miami Gardens 

MIAMI, FLThe westbound SR-826 and Florida’s Turnpike connector in Miami Gardens is currently blocked due to a vehicle fire reported before 8:30 p.m. 

Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene at approximately 8:18 p.m. Fire crews are working on extending the flames, and have not been able to comment on whether the fire was caused by mechanical issues or resulted from a crash. 

As it stands all lanes are blocked. So drivers are asked to seek alternative routes as crews work to get the fire under control and as paramedics extend any necessary medical aid and treatment. 

There have been no reports of injuries so far. 

This is a developing situation. Updates will be added once new details are confirmed by officials.
