Authorities confirm death of driver weeks after crash near West Boca Square
BOCA RATON, FL – A man has died two weeks following a two-vehicle crash in west Boca Raton that left another person seriously injured, according to Boca News Now.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the collision unfolded on State Road 7/US 441 near the West Boca Square shopping center on November 7.
A preliminary investigation shows that the man, a Coconut Creek resident, was driving a 2024 Kia Seltos northbound in the left-turn lane of the road at the same time a Boca Raton man was driving a 2021 Toyota Tacoma southbound in the outside lane.
In an attempt to enter the shopping plaza, the Coconut Creek man made a left turn in the direct path of the Toyota Tacoma, causing a crash. The impact sent the Tacoma southwest until it came to a stop on the south shoulder. The Kia Seltos spun counter-clockwise before rolling backwards until it came to rest in a ditch on the west side of the roadway, south of the plaza entrance.
First responders rushed both occupants of the Kia Seltos to Delray Medical Center. Officials said the driver was pronounced deceased on Wednesday, November 20. His passenger was last listed in serious condition.
