DUI suspect arrested following Hollywood hit-and-run
HOLLYWOOD, FL – A 45-year-old woman has turned herself in following a November hit-and-run that left four people injured, WSVN reports.
The accident occurred on November 2nd at the Chi-ca Cuba Cafe on 20th Avenue in Hollywood. The driver, who is suspected of DUI, was driving an SUV when she swerved to avoid a fire truck.
The suspect lost control of her vehicle and crashed through the outdoor dining area of the restaurant, injuring four people. She then fled the scene and was at large until she surrendered to authorities on Tuesday.
One of the victims lost part of her leg as a result of her injuries. The driver is facing several charges, including DUI and reckless driving.
