Driver injured after colliding with stolen U-Haul in Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – One person was seriously injured in Fort Lauderdale after being struck by a stolen U-Haul truck, NBC Miami reports.
The accident occurred in the intersection of Northwest 14th Street and Northwest 31st Avenue, shortly after 1 p.m.
A U-Haul was reported stolen from a nearby facility and seen driving erratically before crashing into a white SUV. At the time of the crash the U-Haul was traveling the wrong way. After the collision, the out-of-control U-Haul careening into a nearby traffic light before coming to a rest.
The driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries and was seen being placed in an ambulance on a stretcher. The U-Haul driver suffered minor injuries and was also hospitalized.
